The term ‘polished plaster’ is often used today as a ‘catch all’ however there’s so much more to think about – texture, sheen, iridescence, the contrast between coarse and polished finishes, the addition of fine aggregates and other materials. Water-borne paint systems have advanced significantly over the last decade, bringing a number of valuable benefits, not least of all to people’s health. Water borne coatings don’t contain the volatile organic compounds (VOC) and toxic properties. Of course, that’s better for the client, for the installation team and for the environment. Reduced odour, increased colour fastness, non-yellowing properties and extended maintenance cycles all add greatly to the benefits.

If however, your property requires a traditional, or specialist paint system, such as solvent borne, lime paint or mineral silicate systems, then Faux Creation have the extensive knowledge, experience and ability to specify, prepare and apply these finishes for you.

When wall coverings are mentioned, often it’s just wallpaper that springs to mind, however, there are myriad options for your wall coverings including hand printed papers, silks, grass cloths, leather and suede. Bespoke mural and canvas installations are particular specialty as we work closely with a select number of talented muralists worldwide.  Permanent fix and removable options for hand painted canvases are also available.

With any wallpaper or specialist wall covering, the surface preparation is critical, a fine silk, for example, will show any slight blemish, which is why inspection and assessment are important to determine exactly what preparation is required.  The handling of the material to be applied is equally critical as all wallcoverings behave differently during installation.

Protection involves the use of specialist products including multi-floor protectors, professional masking systems and clean edge, safe release masking tapes.  For the benefit of the environment in which you live and work, we have invested in specialist dust extraction sanding systems, reducing ambient dust by 98%.  Every care is taken to ensure post-project cleaning is minimised or eliminated.

If any surfaces are prepared by a third party  or contract partner, we provide the requisite detailed specification the they work to and complete the final inspection prior to the finish being applied.
